yes, more color.

I am an artist.

The mediums I use vary from day to day but there is one constant- my need to
learn + create. I have studied for many years but where I learn the most is
by watching +listening to people. Perhaps it is the way a man crumples a piece of paper or how a stranger says a word. The fact is,
beauty + inspiration
is found everywhere.
The form of a vanilla soft-serve ice cream cone inspires me. The soft gradual interlocking spirals informed the structural system of a conceptual roof.
A moment that changed by life was witnessing a 3 year-old drinking a Welch’s grape soda for the first time. The bubbles danced in her mouth + the flavor was so explosive that not only was it obvious on her candy stained cheeks, but she exclaimed the most wondrous + pure “wow!” It was at that moment that I knew that I had to live my life with the same intensity, excitement + wonder.
As far as I can remember, I have been obsessed with color. As a child,
there was no greater thrill than getting a new box of crayons. To me, those waxy sticks of colors (with names like cornflower + sky blue)
offered me boundless dreams.
Soon
I went from the drawing paper + learned how to paint my world with my eyes + when I got older, I began to use form.
Art, architecture +design came to me naturally + I have always searched for ways to continuously challenge, educate + evolve.
To me, design + architecture is a 3-dimensional game of chess infused with art. It requires strategy, skill + a hypersensitivity to the five senses. Form, color, smell, texture + light are my chess pieces. For design to be good, it was to engage all your senses.

I feel music + dream in color.

Creating space, furniture, objects or volumes are extensions of my imagination. It is the way I communicate +share my dreams.

Passion fuels my life.
Creating is like breathing.
Without art, there is nothing.
