PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Meet Gary. He’s been flying commercial since 1987, has three ex-wives, and takes his job VERY seriously.
Sky Pig is a whimsical sculptural artwork that transforms an ordinary pig into an unlikely aviation hero. Outfitted with a pilot’s cap, aviator sunglasses, metallic gold hooves, and illuminated wings, Gary is a character with a history, an attitude, and absolutely no intention of retiring.
The 20-inch fiberglass sculpture features a luminous coral finish infused with gold micro-glitter, a high-gloss protective coating, and glowing white LED wings. Custom-painted details and playful proportions combine traditional sculptural craftsmanship with contemporary materials and a distinctly pop-surrealist sensibility.
Equal parts sculpture and personality, Gary brings an unexpected dose of humor to the world of aviation.
Concept & Outcome
Sky Pig explores the intersection of character-driven storytelling, contemporary sculpture, and playful impossibility. Through expressive details, reflective surfaces, and integrated lighting, the artwork transforms a familiar animal into a fully realized personality.
The result is a joyful celebration of imagination, individuality, and the unexpected — proof that pigs really can fly.
