TAMPA’S DOWNTOWN PARTNERSHIP, TAMPA HEIGHTS MURAL
PROJECT DETAILS
Location: Tampa, Florida
Project Type: Public Art
Medium: Exterior Mural
Size: 122″ × 122″
Scope: Mural Design and Installation
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Commissioned to energize a high-visibility façade in the urban core, this mural introduces looping, calligraphic movement and a concise color story that functions both as a striking backdrop and a destination for photos, pop-ups, and street-level events. The design maintains legibility from a distance while offering layered detail up close for pedestrians and cyclists. The theme of the mural was to be a place maker and designate the area of Tampa Heights. The alligator depicted in the mural was named “Frankie” by the public in reference to its proximity to Franklin Street.
Program Context
The Tampa Downtown Partnership supports quick-impact public-realm projects that convert blank walls into visual landmarks and encourage everyday engagement with the city’s streets.
Medium & Installation
Exterior mural paint system (UV-stable acrylics) with sacrificial anti-graffiti coating; lift operations and safety coordination completed with property management.
