PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Beach Lovers is a monumental public art concept celebrating the joy, humor, and enduring spirit of Florida’s coastal culture. Designed for Coachman Park in Clearwater, the sculpture depicts two cheerful beachgoers holding hands as they head toward the water.
Standing approximately 15 feet tall, the figures feature rounded, playful forms, vibrant colors, and a high-gloss finish. The woman’s polka-dot swimsuit, oversized sunhat, and pink inner tube complement her companion’s colorful beach shorts, creating a lively composition inspired by sunshine, nostalgia, and the simple pleasure of a day at the beach.
Fabricated in painted fiberglass, the sculpture is envisioned as a durable, weather-resistant landmark designed to engage visitors from every angle.
Concept & Outcome
The Beach Lovers transforms an everyday Florida ritual into a larger-than-life celebration of connection, movement, and shared experience. Its approachable forms and playful character invite visitors to interact, take photographs, and become part of the artwork.
Designed to complement Coachman Park’s waterfront setting, the sculpture offers a welcoming cultural landmark that celebrates the spirit of Clearwater while reminding visitors that sometimes art should simply make you smile.
